Self-Collimating SPECT With Multi-Layer Interspaced Mosaic Detectors

چکیده

Conventional single photon emission computed tomography (SPECT) relies on mechanical collimation whose resolution and sensitivity are interdependent, the best performance a SPECT system can attain is only compromise of these two equally desired properties. To simultaneously achieve high sensitivity, we propose to use sensitive detectors constructed in multi-layer inter spaced mosaicdetectors (MATRICES) architecture accomplish part needed. We name this new approach self-collimation. evaluate three self-collimating systems report their imaging performance: 1) A simulated human brain achieves 3.88% it clearly resolves 0.5-mm 1.0-mm hot-rod patterns at noise-free realistic count-levels, respectively; 2) mouse 1.25% 50-μm 100-μm 3) prototype 0.14% separates 0.3-mm-diameter point sources which center-to-center neighbor distance also 0.3 mm. Simulated contrast phantom studies show excellent signal-to-noise performance. The unprecedented demonstrated by 3 scanners clear manifestation superiority over conventional collimation. It represents potential paradigm shift technology development.

1 Self - Organized Learning in Multi - Layer Networks

We present a framework for the self-organized formation of high level learning by a statistical pre-processing of features. The paper focuses first on the formation of the features in the context of layers of feature processing units as a kind of resource-restricted associative multiresolution learning We clame that such an architecture must reach maturity by basic statistical proportions, opti...

Multi-layer kohonen self-organizing feature map for language identification

In this paper we describe a novel use of a multi-layer Kohonen self-organizing feature map (MLKSFM) for spoken language identification (LID). A normalized, segment-based input feature vector is used in order to maintain the temporal information of speech signal. The LID is performed by using different system configurations of the MLKSFM. Compared with a baseline PPRLM system, our novel system i...

Magnesium-free self-assembly of multi-layer DNA objects

Molecular self-assembly with DNA offers a route for building user-defined nanoscale objects, but an apparent requirement for magnesium in solution has limited the range of conditions for which practical utility of such objects may be achieved. Here we report conditions for assembling templated multi-layer DNA objects in the presence of monovalent ions, showing that neither divalent cations in g...

Development of SiPM-Based Scintillator Tile Detectors for a Multi-Layer Fast Neutron Tracker

We present the development and characterization of thin tile scintillator detectors with silicon photomultiplier (SiPM) readout for use in a multi-layer fast-neutron tracker. The tracker is based on interleaved Timepix and plastic scintillator layers [1]. Fast-neutrons recoil protons in the plastic scintillators, which may then travel to and stop in the neighboring Timepix. Using the measured r...
